26th February round up

The last week at the Red Cross has been a week packed full of some great sporting moments, along with some awesome live musical performances throughout the weekend, making the Pub busy through the whole week.

Everything kick-started on Tuesday evening, with Chelsea facing Barcelona in the Champions League. The match ended 1-1, with Messi scoring his 1st ever goal against Chelsea to earn a draw for Barcelona much to the annoyance of all of the Chelsea fans that came to pack out the pub to watch the Match.

Wednesday was just as busy in the evening as Man Utd faced off against Sevilla, drawing 0-0 in their 1st leg of the Champions League.

It all properly kicked-off with a bang on Friday evening though, with the ever-brilliant Idol Hands performing for the night. As always, they tore the house down with a brilliant set of live music that got everyone in the pub dancing and singing throughout the evening.

Saturday saw Scotland upset all odds and see off England in the 6 Nations, a great win for them, ending 25-13. Saturday night they had the rock legends Cry Wolf performing, which once again was an extremely busy night.

Sunday was a great day for football, with the pub buzzing through the whole day. To begin with, Spurs just managed to beat Crystal Palace in the last minutes, winning 1-0. This was followed by Man Utd beating Chelsea 2-1, along with Man City winning the League Cup final against Arsenal 3-0. Sunday was then rounded off by Matt Mitchell performing an acoustic set in the evening, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.

We now look at what should be another busy week, if everyone doesn’t get snowed in!! There is once again plenty of live sport on offer, along with the loop pedal master, Trent Davies, performing on Friday Night, Fossey Tango on Saturday evening and our Open Mic Night on Sunday to finish the Week off in style!
