15th August weeks round up

Here we are again and the second week into the new season,  We started early with Champions League with Liverpool away at Hoffenheim and securing a win 1-2! Good news for us and English football seeing a potential 5th team if they win the 2nd leg!!
Thursday we got some Europa League with Everton winning 2-0 against Hajduk split, we also saw the start of the first historic day/night test match between England & West Indies (which we all know by now that we smashed!)
After a good midweek of sport and being fairly busier as the weather dulls down we looked forward to Friday. We didn’t have masses of sport with the 2nd day of the cricket and a championship game between Burton and Birmingham which ended in a Burton win BUT most importantly we had Toby Whightman playing in the evening, we are used to him playing part of a Duo with Craig Dutton but this week brought change!
He played an awesome set and he was enjoyed by everyone, as Fridays go it was fairly decent but we know next Friday we will be on for a winner with Happy Jacks playing here in the evening following their charity gig at the Blue Anchor!!
On Saturday we had more football started strong with yet another 4-0 win from Man United which drew a decent crowd considering it was the earlier game, we the had more cricket alongside the 3pm scores followed up a fairly busy yet slightly dreary game between stoke and arsenal ending in Arsenal losing 1-0 but to pull any Arsenal fan out of their sadness we had Fossey Tango back!! Playing some great Soul, Funk and Rock covers.. as always a great show and we can’t wait to see them again on the 9th September!
Lastly Aunday! Huddersfield made history with their first ever win at home in the Premiership and starting a winning streak, followed by Chelsea getting the better of Tottenham in their first Wembly home game! Much again although the majority of our spurs loving locals were pained by the result we had music to bring the smiles back with Andy Cranham playing for us in his first gig for a good few months, and during his break Tom and Becca came to play us a couple songs to fill in the gap!!
A great night it was and we look forward to the bank holiday to come!
See everyone next week
